I often think about Venice. I can’t wait until I’m next there again, floating around in linen. And I think Santa Maria della Salute remains my favourite church, although it has some hot contenders... It’s so iconic though, right? The way it pierces the undulating Venetian skyline like a sharp breast, all ivory white. Sort of over the top and sort of just right.
Here I am in the desert in Senegal on a smallish sort of camel. I think it was my first time in a desert, and this was a very small desert, the Desert of Lompoul. A very nice place. But an awfully long way to go to pose for a photograph.

Day break on the Ganges River in Varanasi. As serene as I look, I’m really NOT a morning person, which makes moments like these, when i drag myself out of my slumber to see something beautiful, all the more special; rare happenings really. I love that feeling when I did a thing which, albeit somewhat gruelling in the moment, lives on as a golden spark in my memory, something I can hark back to in my daydreamings…
